Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 titles have been achieved on hardcourt

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his first championship for 882 days with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the competition championship match.

Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a torrid year, managing just one match at the big events and suffering a meltdown at the New York tournament.

His unpredictability on the professional circuit - and issues with his service game in specific - caused him dropping out of the elite rankings and finally splitting with former coach Gilles Cervara.

Currently training with Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually advanced in the past month - peaking in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over opponent Moutet.

It is Medvedev's first title after the Rome competition and first on a hardcourt from spring of the previous year.

Victory also means the Russian has won twenty-one victories at 21 distinct events.

"It's the first time I am participating in a competition with my children simultaneously, so to win a trophy is especially meaningful," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in honour of my second daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I got when my first daughter her name was born was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his last six finals, comprising in Halle earlier this year.

The player's counter-punching approach and frequent outbursts on the playing surface had caused some to wonder if his skill to play at the top level was finished.

Yet the player has altered his approach in the past month, making an effort to advance forward and perform positively, reinforced by an enhanced serve.

He came back from a break down in the opening set against the tricky Moutet, taking 4 of the last five points to gain the advantage.

Both players swapped breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, attempting for his maiden ATP Tour title, took control to create a decider.

He rescued four early-game opportunities in a close third set before Medvedev broke to that score to close out the victory.

Suitably, Medvedev clinched the title with a point at the net area, with his opponent failing to handle a volley after over two and a half hours.
